How can I back up my Brave Rewards?

The only officially supported method of backing up your Brave Rewards on a device is to verify with a partner exchange.


There is however an unsupported way to back up your Rewards that doesn't require a partner exchange.

You can do this by copying your profile from the old installation to the new one.


Warning: This is not guaranteed to work, and some of the potential side-effects if it goes wrong are that you could lose your balance, you could stop receiving ads/rewards, or your profile could be corrupted.


You can find your profile in the following location:


C:/Users/[YourUserName]/AppData/Local/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser/User Data



/Users/[YourUserName]/Library/Application Support/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser






Note: At this point in time I have not seen any reports of this process working on Android. If someone can confirm one way or the other,  and provide a location for the profile if it does work, please contact me.


Within the indicated folder above you will find a folder named Default which is your default profile, and if you have created more profiles you will find them named Profile X, where X is the number of the profile.

If you only want to move one profile, copy that subfolder, otherwise copy everything, and past it all to the same location of the new installation of Brave.


Note: If you use Beta or Nightly, the Brave-Browser folder will instead be Brave-Browser-Beta or Brave-Browser-Nightly.
